For rent is a charming, characterful and sensitively restored Provençal mas, or farmhouse, on the edge of a delightful and bustling village. It makes an ideal base for exploring the local area, the wider appeals of northern and central Provence, or just relaxing away from it all. It has been lovingly restored over the past 19 years to retain its identity while meeting the modern needs of a good shower and wi-fi internet access.

The house has four available large bedrooms, all of which have en-suite bathrooms and double beds. Single beds are available for any children. The large south-facing private garden has ample capacity for eating outside, for boules or for just reading and relaxing, whether in the sunshine or the dappled shade under a the two plane trees that traditionally grace the front of any Provençal mas.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all pots, pans, cutlery, glasses and crockery you will need to put together a grand meal from the fresh produce from the village market. Towels, sheets and pillows are supplied, so no need to bring those. The house has an upstairs and downstairs lounge so guests need not be on top of one another.

The spacious walled garden contains a traditional “bassin” dipping pool for cooling off in the summer.

It is just a short walk into one of the best villages in the area. It’s a bustling, lively and working village with a useful selection of shops, cafes, & restaurants. The icing is a great Saturday street market with many stalls selling fresh local fruit and vegetables, soaps, bags, herbs, fish, meat, fresh pasta and more. Many French houses need a car for practically everything; Ste Cécile is very self-contained so car travel is only needed for wider trips.

The house is ideal for most holiday needs. To get away from it all, it is easy to be self-contained just relaxing in the house or strolling into the village. For more adventurous days you can use it as a base for local trips to top wine estates, mountains, lakes & rivers, or traditional villages. The local sights of Chateauneuf du Pape, Orange, Mont Ventoux, Dentelles, Vaison la Romaine, Avignon, Ardeche valley, the Luberon, Nimes, and the Pont du Gard are all less than an hour’s drive. Further afield, there are easy day trips to Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Marseilles, Cassis, the Carmague, and many more.
